Tulips in the Garden
Tulips in the Garden: A Black Queer Supper Club is a soft landing space for Black Queer Women, Femmes, and Gender Expansive folx in Durham, North Carolina. Four times a year, we gather to share a nourishing meal, celebrate Black Queer joy, and support our local community.
Tulips in the Garden is rooted in four foundational pillars.
-
Community lies at the heart of everything we do, we cultivate a strong, supportive, and inclusive environment for Black Queer Women, Femmes, and Gender Expansive folx.
-
We celebrate Black Queer joy through intentional activities, cultural expressions, and affirmations of identity, fostering a sense of belonging within the Black Queer community.
-
Nourishment is key to all of our gatherings, we provide both a nourishing meal and experience that feeds the body and soul, emphasizing communal dining as a powerful means of connection and care.
-
Our commitment to service extends beyond our immediate circle, we engage with the broader community through service with local non-profits and support for community initiatives, fostering a culture of solidarity and reciprocity.
